DESENDANTS OF STRANGE FRUIT

Strange fruit, now they don’t need no rope

the new nooses shoot bullets, knees on your neck

hands around your throat,

Descendants of strange fruit

still magnolias,

maga twisted branches

still popular,

triggers poppin

our flesh scream from cries within

strange fruit, the harvest of the seed of hate

a bullet and a cover up

covering up that bitter root

Racism is an angry mob

the arms of white privilege are long

picking strange fruit good and plenty, we can’t eat

it’s a bitter root rotten to the core

planted in American soil
