Streetlights
The streetlights on but we can’t go home 
out late way pass curfew
what punishment 
we’re here for the breakthrough 
pounding the pavement 
slammed to the concrete
we breakthrough, we rose clipping your thorns
streetlights, headlights, flashing lights and sirens
smoke bombs, teargas and nightsticks 
streetlights turned into night lights 
shedding light on this situation 
curfew become curtains, few are the certainties 
we’re breaking curfew
it’s late but we’re breaking through
